Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1 cup salted butter

1 (1-pound) package chopped dates

1 cup finely chopped pecans

2 cups crisp rice cereal

Powdered sugar

Instructions

In a medium saucepan or skillet, cook sugar, butter, and dates over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture gets thick and butter is absorbed, about 10 minutes. Remove pan from heat and add pecans, stirring to combine. Place cereal in a large bowl. Pour date mixture over cereal and gently stir to combine. Let the mixture stand until cool to the touch. Break off small globs and roll them into walnut-size balls using the palms of your hands. Place powdered sugar in a lunch-size paper bag. Add a couple of balls at a time and shake gently. Get ready; it’s gonna be good, y’all!
