Training boys for life through the power of choral music.
The Birmingham Boys Choir serves boys ages 8-18 across greater Birmingham. We teach performance, vocal technique, and music theory. We mentor boys to build discipline, character, teamwork, and faith. Boys learn to pursue beauty with precision and to support one another. Families who want more than an extracurricular find a community that partners with parents to raise boys into men.
We design rehearsals that challenge and encourage. Choristers read music, sing in multiple languages, and perform a rich repertoire. They also learn punctuality, humility, and grit. Older boys model leadership for younger ones, and staff members coach each chorister toward excellence. The result is confidence on stage and maturity off stage.
Parents see the difference. “The BBC gives my son a safe place each week to sing, be creative, have fun, build his character, and learn what it takes to become a man in this world,” says Melissa Mitchell, mom to Jake, BBC Class of 2028.
Founded in 1973, the Birmingham Boys Choir now serves about 150 choristers each season. Our graduates carry strong musical skills and stronger character into school, church, and community life. If your son has a spark to learn and belong, we welcome him. Auditions open throughout the year, and beginners are welcome.
