The Alabama Symphony Orchestra is committed to enriching students’ lives across the state through engaging performances in schools, concert halls, and public venues. From educational programs to classic masterworks concerts, ASO introduces students to the magic of live symphony orchestra, often for the first time, creating unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting impression. With our education concerts, the ASO also publishes a teaching guide that includes resources and lesson plans, directly relating our concert to the Alabama State Standards.

On March 6, 2026, at 9:30 AM, Maestro Chris Confessore invites students from Pre-K through 3^rd grade to pack their musical passport and get ready to travel! In this vibrant, globe-trotting adventure, the Alabama Symphony Orchestra encourages young explorers to discover the sights and sounds of cultures from around the world through the power of symphonic music. Designed for students in PreK through 3rd grade, this interactive program introduces the orchestra’s instrument families while celebrating the joy of music from around the globe. Want to experience a true symphonic experience in the concert hall? Our abbreviated masterworks concerts are great for all ages! From Pre-K to high school, these concerts expose students to timeless classics in a length that is perfect for a younger audience. Ready to take your playing to the next level? Sign up for the Alabama Symphony Youth Orchestra (ASYO). Directed by Maestro Daniel Cho, the ASYO is an ensemble dedicated to nurturing talent, building community, and empowering young lives in the state of Alabama.
