Vestavia Global Rocket Launch

Central Alabama’s Trail Life Troops and The City of Vestavia Hills partner with the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala., to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. On July 16 organizations and individuals around the world will launch model rockets in honor of the mission in which Commander Neil Armstrong took his “one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The Vestavia event, called “Launch Vestavia”. There will be a space-themed moon bounce, rocket-themed crafts, a splash pad, playground, and food from food trucks and Chick-Fil-A. Participants are encouraged to make, buy, or build any kind of rocket to launch.
