Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church (OLS) parishioners recently volunteered to prepare and serve dinner to dozens of homeless guests at First Light Shelter in downtown Birmingham. OLS works with the shelter about 14 days each year, coordinated by Leslie Bentley. First Light offers the only emergency shelter accepting homeless women and families in the area, www.firstlightshelter.org. †
