Faith @ Work
“The Right Way is the Only Way,” is the motto by which local and woman owned Parrot Structural Services LLC has been doing business by for twenty years. Owner Joan Maas shares that her husband, Mike, has worked in the foundation repair industry throughout his career. “In 2004, we were inspired to open our own foundation repair business. Mike and I started with one employee, and we now have 15 employees, an office and a large shop, and equipment needed to do an excellent job for our customers.”
Behind the Business. The name Parrot Structural Services was inspired by Mike and Joan’s love for parrots. “My husband and I previously rescued parrots from unwanted or abusive homes. My cockatoo Zach is the one we designed our logo after.” Both Mike and Joan are Alabama natives and have been in the Birmingham area since 1986. Starting and sustaining the business hasn’t always been easy, Maas shares. “Starting a new company requires hard work and dedication. Our faith is strong and has kept us going in the right direction.” Maas says their faith in Jesus Christ serves as a “guiding light in their business as well as in their personal lives. “Our testimony of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior is sound and through His guidance, we have been able to stay strong in our beliefs to always be honest and open with everyone we do business with.” Maas emphasizes that they have also been blessed to have phenomenal team members working with them.
Serving Alabama. With a combined 40 years of experience in the foundation repair arena, Parrot Structural Services assists residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Their services include pressure grouting, foundation repair, basement/wall repair, poly foam, soil stabilization, new foundation systems, and more. Maas explains “The first signs of stress on your home or building would be cracks in the exterior and/or interior of your home. Another sign is if your doors or windows do not open and shut easily.” If you have any concerns about your home, the Parrot Structural Services team will review your concerns free of charge and give you a free written estimate. “There is no pressure to sign a contract right away. You can take your time and explore other options or get a second opinion,” explains Maas.
