Combined Choirs of Lakeside Baptist and First Baptist of Birmingham under the direction of Rev. Chris Diffey
All- Male Chorus of Sixth Avenue Baptist (120 men strong) under the direction of Mr. Vedric Shelby Plus, your attendance will help thirteen ministries in our community supported by the Birmingham Baptist Association. “These ministries are meeting needs and changing lives for the glory of the Lord,” explains BBA Executive Director, Dr. Mike McLemore who says the idea for the event came from a desire to give the community a specific way to rejoice together as a community in the celebration of Easter. “This is the greatest event for Christian’s in the world and it will be celebrated around the globe! The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is the greatest miracle in all the earth and proves that Jesus Christ is the Son of God!” The Sounds of Music will be April 6 at 6:30 p.m. at First Baptist of Birmingham on Lakeshore Drive. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased at the door or on line at bbaonline.org/concert.
The “Looking Unto Jesus” Holy Week Observance offers the community the opportunity to come together to focus on the person of Jesus. The devotional study will be led by BBA Exec. Dir. McLemore Monday through Friday of Holy Week from 11:30am-12:45pm at the BBA Building, 750 Montclair Rd. 35213. “This is the first time the BBA has sponsored an event that gives people an opportunity to come from all faith groups to worship together and celebrate the Easter event with other Christians who might be of another denomination or for those who are not a part of any denomination,” explains McLemore. A complimentary lunch will be served each day but reservations must be made since space is limited. Call 599-3245 to make your reservations. Visit www.bbaonline.org for more details on both events and the ministries that the BBA supports. †
