ASK Him
Have you ever gone through a period in your life when you were completely miserable? It seemed everything you did turned into a negative. Nothing was turning out right. There is a line in a country song that says, “If it weren’t for bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” Sound familiar? If so, how about asking God to show off in your life?
When heat is applied to silver, the imperfections float to the top and can be scraped away. After this process, the pure silver remains. You can even see your reflection in this “perfect” piece of silver. Perhaps when you are going through a trial, you may want to quit asking God to take the misery away. Rather ask Him to guide you, hold your hand and if necessary, carry you through whatever circumstance you are currently enduring. When God said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” He wasn’t kidding. (Deut. 31:6)
Misery is a precursor to God doing new things in our lives. If we truly believe this, we can focus on the new things that are being developed, rather than letting misery become our guide. Let the imperfections be scraped away as you go through the trials of life.
It boils down to us trusting God and knowing that we are going to be better and stronger on the other side. Think about it.
