Well over 1,000 people recently gathered at the American Village for a Governor’s Salute to Alabama Veterans. At a Service of Recognition, Thanksgiving and Blessing held in the American Village Colonial Chapel, Governor Kay Ivey recognized all veterans for their service and presented each WWII veteran with a commemorative certificate. 97-year-old WWII veteran Col. Carl Cooper thanked the Governor on behalf of all veterans and presented her with an American flag.
