Ingredients

Strawberry Shortcake1 box cake mix (yellow or butter)
Vegetable oil (follow instructions on cake box)
4 large eggs
1 pound fresh strawberries
1 8 oz. container of cool whip
1 12 oz container strawberry gel

Instructions

Bake your cake according to instructions on the cake mix box. Next, Wash strawberries and cut them into small pieces. This is optional but you can add a few teaspoons of sugar to strawberries if desired. Add strawberries to gel and mix well. Layer slices of the cake, strawberries and cool whip in a trifle bowl or dessert cups. Add cool whip, strawberries, or other toppings if desired.
