Jimmy McMillan, an 8th-grader at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School, won The Homewood City District Scripps Spelling Bee competition held at Homewood Middle School in January. He competed against five other Homewood area school students before clinching the title with the word “intoxications.” Jimmy is now scheduled to compete for the Jefferson County title in February.
