Apprentice chefs Kenny, Eric and Braxton spent a morning in the Prince of Peace Catholic Church’s kitchen with parishioner and chef Gerald Buford and his wife, sous chef Deborah Buford, for a cooking lesson and some hospitality instruction. Their lesson began with dessert, piping icing into cupcakes, and then moved on to chocolate-covered strawberries and finally the main course of spaghetti. After the meal was prepared, the students served it to the church staff. Prince of Peace partners with Helena High School’s community based education program to offer their students this opportunity to learn life skills through hands-on experience. †
