Looking for gift ideas for birthdays, weddings or the upcoming holidays? Prodigal Pottery offers handmade pieces for any occasion. Locally made in Birmingham by women escaping homelessness and domestic abuse, Prodigal Pottery works out of Birmingham’s women’s shelter, King’s Home. In addition to employing the residents of King’s Home Shelby, Prodigal Pottery employs women from the Wellhouse, which is a safe house in Birmingham which serves women fleeing sex-trafficking.
Pieces include Christmas ornaments, coffee mugs, ornaments, soap and ring dishes, platters and more. To see examples of Prodigal Pottery in person, visit any of the three King’s Home Thrift Stores in Pinson (4496 Center Point Road), Eastwood/Birmingham (1569 Cooper Hill Road), and Hanceville (306 Main Street SE), www.kingshome.com/thrift. †
