Behind the daily activity of the Pelham Civic Complex, a secret was waiting to be discovered. Muffled mews began to echo from within the walls of the banquet hall. These cries for help became the call that set a life-saving rescue mission into motion.In a remarkable show of teamwork, the Pelham police and fire department, city officials, complex staff, and Two by Two Rescue volunteers joined forces. 
Sections of sheetrock were carefully removed to uncover the four very tiny stars of our story: Meep, Mia, Mickey, and Midnight. These sweet kittens have since traded drywall dust for warm food, soft blankets, toy mice, and cozy laps. Lovingly raised in a foster home, they are well socialized with people and other cats, and are ready for adoption. What could have been a tragedy became a testimony to God’s providence, to the power of compassion, and to the beautiful truth that all life, even the smallest, matters.
