Fostering Options. Does the idea of bringing a strange animal into your home frighten you? Are you worried that if they stay for too long that you will get too attached and never want to let them go? Do you travel at certain times of the year, which could potentially cut into your availability to care for an animal in need?
It is not uncommon to only be able to foster for short periods of time. What you may not know is, we have several opportunities for short term fosters! We are always looking for short term, weekend, vacation, emergency and even overnight fosters. Any time spent in a home setting is invaluable not only for us as a rescue, but also for the dog! It is when they are in a home setting that we can glean the most information about their personalities, their likes, their dislikes and their funny little quirks which in turn helps us find the best possible match for their furever family. It is also when the dog learns their manners and gets the one-on-one attention that they all desperately crave — even if just for a day. Meet Reya. She’s big. She’s goofy. She has ears that can pick up signal from miles around and a smile that can bring the entire internet to its knees. Reya is a giant ray of sunshine. If you’re looking for a furry best friend, then look no farther. This girl’s entire body will wiggle with excitement the minute your tires hit the driveway. Reya is crate and house trained and walks wonderfully on a leash. However, she does have a strong distrust of cats and honestly finds most other dogs shady as well. In her opinion, the single dog life is the way to go.
Firehouse Kittens. There’s nothing worse than an abandoned kitten…. Unless it is three newborn abandoned kittens. Luckily, they were left at a fire station. When our brave first responders found them, they were quick to jump into action and call Two by Two. Today, all three kittens are fat, happy and most importantly, safe! We were able to secure a bottle feeding foster just in the nick of time! As they grow, their little personalities have begun to shine through. They are all sweet, loving and playful. Now they are on to their next great adventure — finding forever homes!
