World Humanitarian Day Sock and Sleeping Bag Drive

Socks are one of the most needed items at homeless shelters, yet among the least-often donated.

Numbers. Approximately 2,929 persons are estimated to be homeless in the Birmingham area. Out of this total estimate, 1,414 are survey respondents, 151 are children under 18 years of age accompanying respondents and 1,364 are homeless persons projected to be living in inaccessible places, such as abandoned buildings and doubling up with relatives and friends.

Help us reach our goal of 500 pairs of new socks and 100 sleeping bags to be distributed to the homeless.
