Choral Masters of the Baroque: Music of Bach and Handel

The 2019-2020 Cathedral Concert Series presents the Cathedral Choir and Orchestra in a concert of scared choral works from the Baroque period.

The Advent Cathedral Choir and Orchestra will present an evening of sacred choral works from the Baroque period, under the direction of our music director Frederick Teardo. This concert will feature our new harpsichord as a continuo instrument playing with the orchestra, alongside the John and Lucille Urmey Continuo Organ. Featured on the program will be George Frideric Handel’s Coronation Anthem Zadok the Priest, Johann Sebastian Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3, and his Cantata No. 140 on Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (Sleepers, Wake!).
