Christian Women’s Leadership Center hosts Transitions Event
“Unexpected Transitions” are just that- we never know when they will come. God has a way of using these times to our benefit when we allow it. Unlike Star Trek where we can be beamed to our next location, transitions generally include a journey. The question is, “Will we let God lead us through that journey, or will we choose to walk the way we think best?”
Wednesday March 2, Christian Women’s Leadership Consultant Claudia Johnson will share her story of transition and lead a discussion on how to prepare yourself for “unexpected transitions” and lead others through them. Before coming to Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) to lead the Christian Women’s Leadership Center (CWLC), Johnson served with the International Mission Board for more than 27 years. She was a journeyman in Africa and then spent almost 26 years in Bangkok, Thailand. While overseas, she worked in a variety of teaching roles including establishing a one-room schoolhouse for Pakistani refugees who were unable to legally attend a school due to visa regulations, teaching students in the Immigration prison, and teaching in the Thai language at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Bangkok.
Johnson’s talk March 2 on “Unexpected Transitions” is a part of CWLC’s spring 2016 luncheons held the first Wednesday of every month at the National WMU headquarters off Highway 280 near Brook Highland. The luncheons are designed to engage Christian women leaders in Birmingham in development and fellowship. Wednesday April 6 the topic will be “Investing in Others.” Learn more and register at www.wmu.com/cwlc
