The American Village in Montevallo recently hosted a Naturalization Ceremony for 57 individuals from 27 countries who took the Oath of Allegiance to become new citizens of the U.S. Janaki Patel ceremonially rang the bell in observance of her new American citizenship and Dr. Teny Topelian poses with American Village historical interpreter Chris Long. Topelian was so excited to become a new American citizen that she was the first to arrive and the first in line when the doors opened for the naturalization ceremony.
