Festival of Tulips: American Village
This spring kicks off the inaugural American Village Festival of Tulips March 1st through April 15th. This beautiful spring experience is perfect for clubs, church groups, and families. The Festival is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from Noon to 4 p.m. The decision to create the Tulip Festival occurred because of the abundance of space on the 183 acre American Village campus. Melanie Poole, Communication Officer for The American Village explains, “We’re blessed with beautiful green spaces,
and we felt like a tulip field would compliment our campus.” The field of over 70,000 tulips creates a scenic backdrop for photos. Admission to the Village includes entrance into the field and visitors are encouraged to pay a low price to pick their own tulips to take home with them. During the Festival, the Village gift shop will also have special merchandise including flower vases, picture frames, garden aprons, t-shirts and caps.
During the week, regular admission of $10 for adults and $9 for seniors and youth includes The Liberty Experience, the American Village’s signature public program that features a tour of the National Veterans Shrine and Register of Honor, a visit to the Oval Office, and exploration of The Randall Museum. Additional activities vary from day to day. On Saturday and Sunday, admission is $5 and includes a limited tour of The Village.
