“I can’t. You can. And I’m going to let You.”
Many years ago, these ten words became a part of my life and a regular conversation with my Savior.
A mantra of sorts.
At first, I’d grab hold of them only in a moment of perceived crisis- like today when I locked my keys in the car as I rushed to get the mail at the post office- but over time I recognized they were a valuable way to begin each day.
I noticed that when I started my day in this frame of mind my circumstances were still often challenging but I experienced them with a peace that passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7). I was more likely to keep an attitude of gratitude for the ways I saw God at work in my life, and even when I could not see passed my hurt to find some good- I could trust He did. I let go of some of my fear of the future and my eyes were open to miracles in the moment.
What wise words does God have for you?
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
