Forever Gingerbread
What started as a Birmingham familyโs tradition of decorating gingerbread houses together at Christmas has turned into a gift that keeps on giving. Mary Martha and Garrett Walker decided it would be fun to build a permanent gingerbread house that could be used over and over again for all occasions. The houses were a hit with family and friends and orders began to come in. The couple decided to partner with Isaiah 55 Ministries in Reynosa, Mexico to grow the business while creating financial independence for deaf young adults. Every Forever Gingerbread house is hand crafted by a members of the Isaiah 55 vocational program for the Deaf and proceeds help fund the ministry, which provides education, healing and hope for the deaf community in Mexico ($35 large, $20 small), www.forevergingerbread.com.
