Christmas at Chelsea Lane
If you are in search of unique holiday gifts and want to enjoy some Christmas cheer, be sure to stop in at Chelsea Lane on Highway 280! When you walk in you will experience the warm welcome of the friendly staff who will offer you a cup of cider and a sample of the shopβs delicious gourmet gifts. When Lisa Glass opened Chelsea Lane alongside Donna Jackson and Darby Simpson in the fall of 2004, little did they know that the community they serve would become more like family. βWe donβt shake hands, we hug around here. Being able to help people and give back to the community that welcomed us so generously is why we do what we do,β expressed Lisa who is now the sole owner of Chelsea Lane.
When Lisa says they give back to their community they really go above and beyond typical small businesses in donations. Elementary schools all over Shelby County benefit from their generosity. Chelsea Lane has donated over $37,000 in items for school auctions, gift certificates, and monetary gifts to local schools. βThe adage βto whom much is given, much is expectedβ is really taken to heart. The quality of Shelby County Schools is due in great part to the parents, and when we can give a small gift to help prepare these children for tomorrowβ¦we need to,β Lisa said.
Lisa also strives to support local craftsman. Most of the items in her store are made in Alabama along with a few great selections from other Southern states. Hereβs a look at just a few of the items sure to make those on your gift list smile
And while you are shopping, you can also check off your list a visit with Santa!
Chelsea Lane offers customers 10 minute appointments with Santa for pictures and conversation on December 1,7,13,15,18,20. Call 678-3361 to schedule your time. Itβs free but you can make Santa smile by giving a donation to Camp Smile A Mile.
