Stop the Leaks
Recently, we had a leak in our backyard from an irrigation system pipe. We discovered that during some construction a large truck drove over the line, broke a joint, and created the leak. I got a shovel and dug down to the source of the leak. Then I started making my list of the items I would need to repair it. After replacing the broken pipe and fixing the problem, I still had a really wet area. I didn’t understand why there was still such wet ground around the repaired area; then I realized the leak must have been there for quite a while. Although the leak was very small, there was a 6 foot wide circle of wet seepage around it.
Sometimes we are faced with a leak within our heart that is desperate for repair. Many times when we dig deep enough, we find out the problem has been there for a long time.
Remember, only God can repair the damage of leaks in our hearts, minds and souls. Every day, we choose to work on or not to work on our leaks that we know need to be fixed. We choose whether or not we will follow the Lord’s guidance. God is the only one that can fix the leaks within us and stop the seepage problems. Our task is to be willing, and trust Him that everything will work out because He promised. Romans 8:28
