Free Shredding & E-Waste Recycling

Have old electronics you need to discard? Gone For Good will be on-site from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. to recycle them for free for you at the Celebrate the Family Expo on May 8, 2021! They will also shred for free your unwanted documents. As you recycle you will also be helping to support United Ability, formerly UCP of Greater Birmingham. Gone For Good accepts paper, file folders, CDs, paperclips, binder clips, and staples. For electronics, Gone For Good generally accepts computer-related items – hard drives, flat-screen monitors, keyboards/mice, printers, etc. If it’s used in a home office, it will be accepted. Items NOT accepted include: Tubular/Projection monitors or televisions; medical equipment/waste, including dental molds; kitchen/household appliances; medication/pill bottles; computer hard drives must be documented by a GFG staff member. Hard drives are physically shredded using an Alleghney 5HD3 machine and then recycled. Read more about Gone For Good here.
