Valleydale Christian Grads Celebrate!

Education Extra

Valleydale Christian Academy Valedictorian Jerica Snowden is a scholar/athlete with competitive volleyball and will attend Samford University in the Fall.

In formal caps and gowns, seniors recently graduated from Valleydale Christian Academy on Valleydale Road. The ceremony was adjusted for social distancing but still included a traditional message from Valedictorians Jerica Snowden and Cameron Meredith and a celebratory tossing of caps. 44 seniors graduated May 22, 2020 after finishing an unusual spring semester. “The students who were in classes on campus had to go virtual with all of our teachers – a challenge  – but they’ve made it. So proud of all of them!” exclaimed Valleydale Christian Director, Susan Hubbard. “Seniors 2020 and the staff at Valleydale Academy will have many unusual memories to share in the years to come about the year of the virus!”

Valleydale Christian Director, Susan Hubbard, along with Valedictorians, Cameron Meredith and Jerica Snowden, address the school’s Class of 2020.

As a part of her Valedictorian speech, Jerica Snowden shared with her classmates, “With every obstacle that comes your way, my advice is to face it head on and be yourself. Don’t’ be afraid to make the decision that is best for you, no matter how tough something is. Never give up because you are more than capable of getting through it.”

Founded in 1998, Valleydale Christian Church and Academy is a cover school for families who wish to educate their children at home. The school began with the “mission to offer a safe haven to any families who needed guidance in pursuing home-based education.” Learn more at www.valleydale.net. †
