Celebrate the Family Expo
Grab your family and friends and join us for the 4th Annual Celebrate the Family Expo on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Hoover Metropolitan Complex’s Finley Center brought to you by Birmingham Christian Family. Enjoy free family fun, great giveaways and so much more! Be one of the first 250 attendees to receive a swag bag full of giveaways. Rain or shine this is an event you don’t want to miss! Here is a sneak peek of the jam-packed schedule full of fun.
10 a.m. – Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato kicks off the Expo with opening announcements. Plus, on the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage, Hannah Sparks, owner of Psalm 34 Bakery and Catering, demos a breakfast bakery item along with their specialty cold coffee.
10:15 a.m. – Kevin Derryberry performs praise/worship music and will continue to do so throughout the Expo.
10:30 a.m. – Social Media Sensation Danna Standridge takes the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage demoing one of her tried and true family recipes- Tater Tot Casserole. Plus the Chick-fil-A Herd arrives!
11 a.m. – Katrina Adams of In the Kitchen with K Marie arrives on the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage teaching the audience how to cook one of her favorite tailgating recipes from her cookbook.
11:30 a.m. – Ashley McMakin of Ashley Mac’s shares one of her favorite recipes from her new cookbook, Ashley Mac’s Kitchen, on the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage and signs copies of her cookbook. Plus, the Chick-fil-A Herd returns to dance!
12 p.m. – Lee Pantazis with Gus’s Hot Dogs shares the process behind building a flavorful hotdog and the history of Birmingham Hot Dogs on the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage. Plus, the Birmingham Bulls Toro arrives at the Expo.
12:30 p.m. – BBQ Pitmaster Van Sykes with Bob Sykes BBQ shares one of the many delicious family recipes and BBQ stories on the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage and signs copies his new book From the Pit to the Plate. The Chick-fil-A Herd returns with giveaways and dance moves.
1 p.m. – 2 p.m. – Beloved Southern Cook Brenda Gantt and her son-in-law Alabama author and outdoorsman Walt Merrell take the Crumbl Cookies Celebrity Chef Stage together to share stories and recipes that you don’t want to miss!
Kids Zone. From 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. enjoy free fun in the Kids Zone including free inflatables from River of Life Church and free face painting from Painted Personalities. You can also meet feathered friends from the Alabama Wildlife Center plus adoptable dogs with Two by Two Animal Rescue!
Food Vendors. Be sure to come to the Expo hungry! Purchase lunch and snacks from Eugene’s Hot Chicken, Krazy Good BBQ, Lil Bougie Foodie, Sno Biz Bham, and Southern Coffee and Waffles.
The Vapor Thrift Store Donation Truck will be onsite accepting donations including gently used clothes, shoes, household goods, and collectibles. So take a moment between now and the Expo and collect items in your home you no longer need, donate them at the event for a great cause and receive a tax deductible donation receipt.
Gone for Good (a program of United Ability), will be at the Expo from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. providing free shredding and electronic recycling for all attendees.
