Expanded Services & Sisters Garden at St. Vincent’s 119

The new Outpatient Surgery Center and Urgent Care Center on the campus of St. Vincent’s 119 will begin seeing patients this month. “More than 10 years ago, St. Vincent’s set out to create a new kind of healthcare within the community. Healthcare that focuses on not only taking care of you when you’re sick, but also providing the health and wellness support to keep you well. That model was One Nineteen,” said Neeysa Biddle, Sr. V.P., Ascension Health and Birmingham Ministry Market Executive at the recent ribbon cutting and blessing of the expansion adding, “We celebrate that those ‘Healthcare Like No Other’ offerings continue to expand on the One Nineteen campus, as a part of creating a truly clinically integrated system of care to best serves the needs of our patients.” In addition to the expansion pieces, St. Vincent’s One Nineteen has more than 50 physicians in 14 medical specialties, a comprehensive outpatient diagnostic imaging center, rehabilitation services, GI Lab, wellness services and classes, a spa and fitness center.

The facility is part the system’s infrastructure for population health and person-centered care (www.onenineteen.com). Rev. Joseph Culotta from Saint Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church blessed the new expansion and the outside grounds set aside for the construction of an outdoor sacred space for services, personal prayer and quiet reflection for the community. The Sisters Garden will be in honor of the four Daughters of Charity, who founded St. Vincent’s in 1898. To learn more about this project, visit stvhs.com/give.
