COVID-19 IS NO MATCH FOR SAINT ROSE ACADEMY. On Friday, March 13, the faculty of Saint Rose Academy (SRA) took up the challenge to teach their students online. They agreed to take Monday and Tuesday, March 15, and 16 to discover the best tools with which to teach the students remotely. The students began their e-learning experience the following day with no time being lost. The Saint Rose Academy faculty, students, and parents adapted, adjusted, and did not compromise. The exceptional intellectual and spiritual formation for which the small school is known over the last 64 years of its existence continued.
Saint Rose is preparing for the return of students to school for the first day of the 2020-21 school year on August 10, 2020; the goal is that students attend school in-person with the maximum possible direct teacher instruction within the State and local health department COVID-19 safety guidelines. SRA is committed to provide an ongoing and consistent environment conducive to learning; this is best achieved through direct, in-person instruction, but may also be achieved through high-quality remote instruction via electronic means if state/local guidelines prevent schools from being open.
SRA is located at 1401 22nd Street South in Birmingham. The school is owned and operated by the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation based in Nashville, TN.
