North Shelby Baptist School of Performing Arts

Student and teacher playing the violin

North Shelby Baptist SOPA

Students at North Shelby Baptist School of Performing Arts (SOPA) take lessons in a variety of areas.  These include voice, piano, percussion, guitar, dance, violin, and several band and orchestra instruments.  Our teachers are blessed to be a part of each child’s journey in the Arts and are dedicated to the Christian principles taught along with the music. In our world today beauty is so important, and at North Shelby SOPA we are thankful that we are able to introduce our students to the Arts and walk with them as they develop their God-given talents. We are enrolling now for the Fall lessons and classes, and we’d love to enroll your students. Our dance classes are for age 2-5 and k-8 and are taught by Joy Lovette who a great deal of experience working with younger students. Josephine Cox is our wonderful string teacher who teaches violin on Tuesday afternoons. She is experienced teaching both school-aged children and adults. Gloria Susanne Gilmer shares her love for piano with her students on Tuesdays and is wonderful with beginners, as well as advanced students. We would love to meet you and tell you more about our program. Call us at 205 259-2640, 205-995-9056 or visit www.northshelbybaptist.org/school-of-performing-arts for more information.
