Family Field Trips in the Beauty of God’s Backyard! Camp McDowell’s mission is to show the way the world could be through worship, learning, rest and play in the beauty of God’s Backyard. The camp borders the edge of the Bankhead National Forest in Winston County, Ala. and consists of breathtaking canyons, waterfalls, forests, and is known as the Beautiful Queen of Clear Creek. The camp includes miles of hiking trails, glistening streams, comfortable lodging, and great food. During this time families are needing a safe way to experience fun times together. Everyone needs time for their mental and emotional health. With that in mind, Camp McDowell offers several ways for families to safely escape into the camp’s 1400 beautiful acres in nearby Nauvoo, Ala.
Family Field Trips: McDowell Environmental Center and The Farm School offer families an educational and relaxing three-day experience of exploration. Activities include raptor program, meeting camp goats, chickens, and pigs, guided nature hikes in canyons, streams and sandstone formations, canoeing and a “taste” of the farm (harvest and prepare food).
Family Camp: Rent out any of the spaces at McDowell and have a retreat away. Canoe, hike, swim, sleep and have fun! You can even pick up activity passes in order to get more structured activities.
All programming includes amazing food for the whole time of your visit. You show up and Camp McDowell takes care of everything for you. Make your reservation today! Email email@example.com, call 205-387-1806, visit campmcdowell.org. †
