SUMMARY:Harper's Heart Run
DESCRIPTION:The fourth annual Harper’s Heart Run will be Saturday\, Sept. 16 at Buffalo Wild Wings (2505 Caufield Drive\, Gardendale). Proceeds from the run benefit the Pediatric and Congenital Heart Center at Children’s of Alabama. \nHarper Hill was born on September 23\, 2013 with no signs of any complications. At a one-week routine checkup\, a small heart murmur was detected and she was referred to a pediatric cardiologist. Weeks after being born Harper was diagnosed with multiple\, rare congenital heart defects and heterotaxy syndrome. She had her first open heart surgery on May 13\, 2015 and since then has had a great recovery. Harper has a long road ahead of her with multiple open heart surgeries planned\, but due to the research and advancements made with congenital heart defects\, there are more options for her future than ever before.
